Kendrick Lamar - HUMBLE

Kendrick Lamar is on fire. Quite literally. In the video for surprise single "HUMBLE" as he's engulfed in flames. The religiously charged imagery is just as powerful as his words. With its jittery beat, this ode to natural beauty, is a rightful brag from an artist who deserves to be anything but the title adjective.

Gorillaz - Andromeda (feat. D.R.A.M.)

Everyone's favorite musical cartoon collective returned with a bang last week as they dropped four new tracks in anticipation of their upcoming album. "Andromeda" which features hip-hop up-and-comers D.R.A.M is a spacey dance-tastic banger. It's psychedelic disco for the digital age.

Broken Social Scene
- Halfway Home

The Canadian indie-rock collective is back with their first new song in nearly seven years. "Halfway Home" is just as anthemic as anything they've ever released. Layers of handclaps, horns and scrappy guitars make the track a powerful and welcome return.

Perfume Genius
- Slip Away

Perfume Genius' latest single is as defiant as it is intimate. "If we never see them coming, we never have to hide," Mike Hadreas sings in this ode to his boyfriend of eight-years. His yearning croon works in tandem with the elegant synths to a victorious climax. It's a triumph as an act of love and an act of protest.

Whitney - Gonna Hurry (As Slow As I Can)

Not everyone has the nerve to take on Dolly Parton songs. But like another Whitney that came before them (Houston, that is) indie soft-rockers give one of her classic tunes their best. It's an earnest attempt to tackle twangy heartbreak in the mellowest of melancholy ways and it works.

Mary J. Blige - Love Yourself (feat. Kanye West)

What starts off as a tender ballad quickly ramps up in a blast of self-empowerment soul. The funky brass and slinky beat work to instill the importance of self-love, but really it's Mary J. Blige's incredible voice that makes this a jam for the ages. Oh, and Kanye drops a verse too.

Calvin Harris - Heatstroke (feat. Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande)

Calvin Harris plans to conquer 2017 by releasing tens songs over the course of the year. The latest of which is "Heatstroke" and it's as summery as its name suggests. Ariana Grande, Pharrell and Young Thug aid the super-producer in creating what will likely one of the biggest hits of the year.
