Kendrick Lamar - untitled 07 | 2014 - 2016
After last year's magnum opus To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar surprised us all with the unexpected drop of untitled unmastered. While the whole album is a masterful victory lap, it's the epic "untitled 07 | 2014 - 2016" that really captivated us. Maybe it's because a Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz five-year-old son Egypt produced the low key hip-hop jam session. And you thought your kindergartener was talented.

Parquet Courts - Berlin Got Blurry
The bass line of "Berlin Got Blurry" wouldn't sound out of place at a Western showdown, one where shambling heartache and spiky punk duke it out to a draw. Throw in some Elvis Costello-like yelps and your ears emerge the ultimate winners.

case/lang/veirs - Atomic Number
Neko Case, k.d. lang and Laura Veirs have all embarked on impressive careers of their own. However with the formation of case/lang/veirs they form an even mightier folk trio. "Atomic Number" is a strong introduction to their super-group side-project that we can't wait to hear even more from in the future.

Miguel
ft. Kacey Musgraves - waves (Remix)

Sometimes two things that are amazing on their own shouldn't be combined. But unlike pizza and ice cream, Kacey Musgraves and Miguel blend in an unpredictably delightful way. Her sweet country croon and his R&B grooves create a "wave" we can't stop riding.

Mitski - Your Best American Girl
"Your Best American Girl" is all about the build-up. It starts with slow acoustic strums and then erupts into a fire of feedback. It's Mitski's delicate voice that serves as the song's backbone, though, growing stronger in conviction with every quaking second.

M83 - Do It, Try It
After the massive success of their 2011 album, "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" M83 are finally back. "Do It, Try It" find the French electro-pop outfit getting a little funkier and a lot weirder. Given the supposed influence of Punky Brewster and Who's The Boss it's hard to predict what the new album will have in store, other than ironic 80s nostalgia, that is.

Day Wave - Stuck
Day Wave's chill, lo-fi aesthetic is best exemplified in their latest single "Stay." It's jangly and nostalgia-inducing in all the right ways. In other words, it's the stuff indie movie trailers are made of.

White Lung - Hungry
"Hungry" is the blistering noise breakthrough you'd expect of a song with that title. While the Canadian riot grrl influenced group have been around for nearly half a decade, this could be the track that elevates them beyond their rabid cult following.

FKA Twigs - Good To Love
"Good To Love" is just as sensual as anything FKA Twigs has ever released, but it's the British R&B ingenue's ethereal voice that elevates the track from sexy to otherworldly.

The Knocks ft. Carly Rae Jepsen - Love Me Like That

Carly Rae Jepsen had an amazing 2015 and she continues her hot streak with "Love Me Like That" a collaboration with production duo The Knocks. It's an infectious bit of dance music that draws from electronic and disco sources in the sparkliest of ways.

Baauer ft. Pusha T and Future - Kung Fu

Bauer's high profile collaboration with Future and Pusha T on "Kung Fu" has us really excited about his upcoming album. In the meantime we'll just whip it up with this banging track.
