For music fans and concertgoers, nature is healing. In other words, the return of live music is here.

Outside Lands, the three-day music event in San Francisco, is one of the several fests making its way back into the festival scene. This year's lineup includes headlining performances from Tame Impala, Lizzo, The Strokes, Tyler, the Creator and more. But the festival's comeback also offers a variety of longtime favs and up-and-coming names, some of whom are performing on a festival stage for the first time ever.

Whether you're attending the fest and building out your schedule or looking for new music recommendations, here are some names you ought to know.

Claud

Between signing with Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory Records, releasing their debut album and touring with Bleachers, Claud's momentum shows no signs of stopping. Mixing synthpop and DIY acoustic elements, Claud's music goes through the ups and downs of young adulthood with tenderness and a touch of nuance.

Evann McIntosh

Evann McIntosh's Character Development lives up to its name. From putting an alternative spin on R&B to jumping between playful and poignant lyrics, the singer-songwriter delivers a dynamic, exhilarating energy.

Goth Babe

Griff Washburn of Goth Babe makes music straight out of a sun-soaked daydream, a reflection of his life in the Pacific Northwest. It's a feel-good experience all around with his signature buoyant beats and shimmery melodies.

HINDS

Hailing from Madrid, HINDS turns the up voltage with their garage pop melodies. That energy is known to transcend into their live performances—always full of action and into the groove.

Madeline Kenney

A safe haven for ponderers and overthinkers, Madeline Kenney puts introspective tendencies to the tune of dream pop and folk. Her swirling guitar riffs and atmospheric vocals are sure to keep your head in the clouds.

Nancy Whang

You might know her as the vocalist-keyboardist in LCD Soundsystem, but Nancy Whang is a sonic force in her own right too, whether it be with DJing or with solo material. She'll be performing on the inaugural Grass Lands stage.

Noga Erez

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, then trust that Noga Erez can serve up that experience. The Tel Aviv-based musician and producer combines hip hop and electronic beats, which result in undeniably bold dance anthems. She pairs her compelling sound with lyrics to chew on, especially on sophomore album KIDS.

ODIE

Self described as “an analogue artist in a digital age," ODIE creates soul-soothing R&B jams. His DIY approach to songwriting and production comes through in his sound—organic and totally personal to him.

Remi Wolf

There are no such things as bad moods when it comes to Remi Wolf's music. Feel-good beats, fun lyrics and colorful melodies—the Bay Area singer-songwriter does it all.

SOHMI

In search of a song that moves you (literally)? SOHMI's got you covered. The LA-based DJ makes music that's more than dance-friendly. Her combination of house, pop and R&B feels like a pure rush of endorphins that'll have you head over heels.
