While busy launching her elaborated new stage show Cornucopia in New York City, Björk found the time to release a music video for 'Tabula Rasa' from her last album Utopia.
The video sees Björk transform once again and become a vessel for nature and technology to merge together and reconcile. The abstract visuals are part of a recurrent environmental theme that has been omnipresent in Björk's creative work, activism and message. This issue is now more relevant than ever following the release of a damning UN report on the global state of biodiversity in which the world's leading scientists concluded that human society is under threat from loss of Earth's natural life.
About the collaboration, director Tobias Gremmler stated:: "When creating the video, I was deeply inspired by the music and lyrics of Tabula Rasa. The visual transformation of Björk into faun-like flowers and mountainous landscapes embodies the utopian concept of a harmonious coexistence between nature and human based on empathy."
