Patrick Sweany: Long Way Down (Last.fm Sessions)

Patrick Sweany performs tracks from his "grown up" record: Daytime Turned to Nighttime, his seventh full-length record and latest for Austin label Nine Mile Records.

Patrick Sweany has been around for longer than one may think, tirelessly touring his raw, foot stomping roots music. He's best known for his song "Them Shoes" off the 2007 album Every Hour Is A Dollar Gone. He was something of a mentor to Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, Patrick's band being one of the first the future rock superstar would join, before he was even of legal drinking age to play in bars.

Despite having released multiple albums since the 90's, Sweany considers his latest effort, Daytime Turned To Nighttime, to be his most mature record to date. To him it marks a change for the better in his life as a whole, citing ongoing personal struggles.

"You can only write so many songs about living in the aftermath of something"
