Swiss trio Sinner DC (94,208 scrobbles) are widely renowned for being one of the most captivating live ambient acts, a reputation they have cemented since their 1998 debut album Panoramic. Now, they've handed over their most recent release Future That Never Happened to some of ambient music's most talented remixers, to produce the Ambient Mixes remix album.
Far from being a patchwork collection of remixes however, Ambient Mixes is a whole new album; an 80-minute cinematic trip following the tradition of ambient albums in the vein of The Orb, Le Coeur, and The KLF.
Finding its home on Mental Groove Records, the home of Luciano and Miss Kittin & The Hacker among others, Ambient Mixes comes as Sinner DC prepare to drop their latest album MAPS – a collaboration with Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom, founding member of seminal alternative neo-psychedelic rock band Spacemen 3.
Having been a key influence on the likes of My Bloody Valentine and producer for MGMT and Panda Bear, Sonic Boom's involvement marks another milestone and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Sinner DC.
