After playing host to Laibach's UK tour last year we jumped at the chance of being involved again. The Slovenian industrial band's most recent record Spectre, out via Mute Records, has a remarkable pop edge to it that retains the band's avant-garde neoclassical leanings and is a fine addition to the band's vast catalogue.
Since that UK tour, Laibach have done what no other band has ever done before (quite literally). The band played a show in North Korea, becoming the first ever rock band to perform there. The show was a result of two years of negotiation between the DPRK's cultural exchange committee and the band's musical director Morten Traavik and cemented the band as true visionaries; transcending everything that we have come to expect of musicians.
