2016 and the music world still cannot get enough of Coheed and Cambria. The New Yorkers have, and continue to have, an illustrious career that has seen them welcomed by all manner of circles (prog? yep. emo? yep. metal? sure). We now find ourselves presented with The Color Before The Sun, perhaps the band's finest collection of rock songs that exhibits, truer than ever, their unnerving ability to channel all of their past styles into a body of work that will sit very proudly alongside everything else they've done to date.
And that's been a lot. They have been played over 43 million times by 867k listeners on Last.fm and they are showing no sign of slowing down, with The Colour Before The Sun already clocking in 404.6k plays since its release in October last year.
Today we present part 1 of their session with us with an acoustic performance of lead single 'You Got Spirit, Kid'. The band kindly took time out from their recent UK tour with Glassjaw to step onboard the Lightship95 and we couldn't be prouder of the results. Watch via YouTube below:
