In the beginning, Anathema was a Doom Death Metal band, and have which together with [artist]Paradise Lost[/artist] and [artist]My Dying Bride[/artist] helped develop that genre (but not creating it!). Progressively, they've changed their music, today playing Atmospheric Rock.
