Andrés Lewin-Richter Ossiander was born in Miranda de Ebro, Burgos (Spain) in 1937. He studied industrial engineering at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia and received a Fulbright scholarship allowing him to complete his studies at the Columbia University, New York where he worked between 1962 and 1965, being assistant of Vladimir Ussachevsky, Mario Davidovsky and Edgar Varèse at the Columbia Princeton Electronic Music Center, where he created his first electronic compositions.
