Westchester Lady is a classy Jazz funk/ fusion anthem, it has a haunting backbeat which invites the main theme to be overlaid, this theme is cleverly contrived by the use of keyboard and orchestral innovation which leads to a gentle builds up, then eases down to allow the intriguing extemporisations that follow. It's probably one of the most well known and best loved Jazz tracks of it era. A classic piece of music from Bob James that helped to define his artistry and his writing ability, it's a delight to both dance and to listen and it’s a ‘must’ for every Jazz funk record collector.
