I discovered this album because German music TV station Viva2 was playing Prowler. It was love at first sight, and it hasn't waned in all these years. I don't think I could ever grow tired of this album.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Bohren & Der Club of Gore because German music TV station Viva 2 played "Prowler" every now and then. I bought the album and became very, very calm. ;-) I'm glad that after 18 years, this album still makes me every bit as calm as it did back then. Timeless masterpiece. It's not that their other albums are *bad*, but this one sticks out of the crowd. <3 <3 <3

An amazing album that should be listened to by anyone that even remotely likes elements of jazz or post-rock.

I always put this on from the start and all the way through, it simply deserves that. My ears do, too.

A great soundtrack for an old pulp detective novel or a midnight alleyway with god-knows-what steaming out of the manhole under a flickering streetlight.

For when nothing is right, and the goal just seems too far away and as the lights start going on one by one in this city you expected more from, you only got your own company, but the melancholy wraps itself around you in a bittersweet way, and you just can't be as sad as you know you should be.

Over the years, I have forgotten and re-discovered this album repeatedly. It has certainly stood the test of time very well. On days like today, when it's too hot and damp outside to lift a finger, this album is perfect.

this atmosphere when you listen to this album and riding on the bike in the night through the city is indescribably... will make you have a loss of reality

Easily their best album, probably because the saxophone takes central stage and never leaves. Nocturne but not dark album.

Bohren nailed it with this album. Sit there on a rainy day listening to this with a glass of scotch watching the rain fall and you can almost hear Bogart's voice narrating your life. I've been looking for something similar to this album for over a year now, there are things in the same realm, but nothing comes even close to this. Bohren Perfected the Doom Noir Jazz. Wish they kept the sax/piano combo prominent on subsequent albums. I'll never get sick of this album.
