Cola Boy was basically an alias for Saint Etienne. Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs of the band had written and recorded the dance track 7 Ways To Love with Saint Etienne vocalist Sarah Cracknell on vocals but felt the song was too "cheesy" for the Etienne name. Therefore they released a 12" white label under the Cola Boy alias. After massive club success, it eventually got picked up by major label BMG Arista.
