Only seven months after likening himself to a “POP STAR,” DaBaby teams up with fellow 2019 superstar Roddy Ricch for “ROCKSTAR,” an ode to their reckless lifestyles. DaBaby and Roddy draw hip-hop’s popular parallel between their life and that of rockstars, substituting a rocker’s typical guitar for a firearm. Additionally, the duo compares their rise to the top and express their loyalty to family and loved ones. The song’s upbeat, guitar-driven trap instrumental is produced by DaBaby’s frequent collaborator, SethInTheKitchen, who notably produced Baby’s 2019 track, “iPHONE.”
