Disco Daddy & Captain Rapp were the west coast's first hip-hop and rap duo. They released the first west coast rap recording, 1981's The Gigolo Rapp, under the brand new Rappers Rapp Disco Co.. They would continue to collaborate through the 1980s and release solo material as well (see Captain Rapp and Disco Daddy), but the duo continued to tour together as part of an at-risk youth organization devoted to keeping children in school.
