Ekko & Sidetrack are brothers, Jeff and Jonathan Hansen hailing from Perth, Australia. Their unique take on drum and bass caught first caught the eye of Viper Recordings in 2014 when their tune “Contention” was featured on the Viper Recordings Summer Slammers LP. In 2015 they teamed up with fellow Perth producer Gran Calavera to produce ‘Snowden’ which was included as part of Viper’s revered Headroom Series. They closed out the year with their debut single on Viper “Alone Without You / AMPM”.
In 2016 the duo went from strength to strength playing packed out shows all around Australia, landing a massive remix’s of Virtual Riot & Shockone’s “Throwdown” on Disciple Recordings, releasing their second single “Burgle / One Time” on Viper Recordings, complete with a video they made themselves. Late in the year they started their conversational podcast “The Adventures of Ekko & Sidetrack” that has spawned a cult following for the Hansen brothers and their tongue-and-cheek personalities. This cheekiness comes across in their ever growing collection of drum and bass bootlegs - ranging from Flume to London Grammar and Duke Dumont - these are all available for download from Ekkoandsietrack.com
This year they have played their first shows in Europe, started their curated event under the Adventures banner, done a huge remix of Varsity’s – “Joy in Me” for premier Australian dance label One Love and had releases on Viper’s Bassrush compilation. Now the duo have just dropped "Let the Light In" featuring Reija Lee to finish off the year with a bang.
