Similar to his debut album, ("Wanted On Voyage"), "Staying at Tamara's" was produced by Cam Blackwood and co-written by former Athlete singer Joel Pott. In interviews, Ezra explained that the album’s name comes from when he went away to Barcelona, Spain, for 1 month to write the second album and he stayed in an apartment owned by a woman called, “Tamara”.
