Bittersweet Poetry was released as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of Graduation though it was one of the first songs recorded for Kanye’s Late Registration. After seeing the movie Ray together, John Mayer and Kanye West decided to record this song together. Kanye performed the song in poem form on an episode of Def Jam Poetry in 2006, a year before the release of Graduation.
