In “What Happened To Virgil,” Lil Durk recruits the Atlanta native, Gunna for a commemorating song inspired by the unfortunate passing of the American fashion designer and entrepreneur, Virgil Abloh. In the song, both Durk and Gunna speak on the trauma caused by the death of their loved ones, however, they also speak on murder, drugs, and females throughout the song. Despite the dark meaning behind the song, Lil Durk’s catchy chorus had gained traction on the video-sharing platform TikTok encouraging popular video cinematographer Cole Bennett to hint a release of a music video.
