Biography
Madvillain is the collective formed by hip-hop artist MF DOOM, and California based produced, Madlib. The pair collaborated on the critically acclaimed “Madvillainy” which released in 2004. The album boasts the singles “Money Folder”, “America’s Most Blunted”, “All Caps” and “Curls”. The album peaked at number 179 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the only piece of completely original music the duo would produce together. What followed was a Madvillainy instrumental album, as well as a collection of remixes done by Madlib called “Madvillainy 2: The Madlib Remix Album” which released in 2008. Since than, the pair have collaborated outside of Madvillain (most notably Madlib produced several songs for DOOM’s 2009 album, “Born like This”) but they have not put out any original content under the moniker “Madvillain” since 2004’s “Madvillainy”.
