"Fear and Loathing" is a song by Welsh singer-songwriter MARINA, also known as Marina & the Diamonds. The song was written by Marina Diamandis and produced by Liam Howe. It's the last song (on both editions) from her second studio album, Electra Heart.
Diamandis called "Fear and Loathing" a turning point in her life, after which she stopped being a "bitter person" and began to work with new people and try new things, even though she wrote the song alone in her bedroom in London. Diamandis placed the track last on Electra Heart because she views it as a "letting go" song.
Diamandis's grandmother, who was 93 at the time, is featured on the track. Diamandis recorded her 'gran' while she was cooking in her kitchen, singing 'an old Greek folk song,' which is faintly heard at the end of "Fear and Loathing".
