Baltimore-based quartet Natural Velvet started as an experimental project, founded by current guitarist Spike Arreaga in the summer of 2012. Joined by guitarist Kim Te, vocalist/bassist Corynne Ostermann, and drummer Adam Jones, the band set forth into the Baltimore punk and noise rock scenes, finding footing respectively with a loud, guitar-centric sound, weighted by a strict and solid rhythm section, centering the often jarring and asymmetric guitars. Natural Velvet borrows heavily from early english punk to post punk music, as well as the New York no wave scene and spots of shoegaze.
