"Live and Let Die" is the main theme song of the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die and was performed by Paul McCartney & Wings on the movie soundtrack and soundtrack album. Commissioned specifically for the movie and credited to Paul McCartney and his wife Linda, it reunited McCartney with Beatles producer George Martin, who both produced the song and arranged the orchestral break.
According to the Live And Let Die Songfacts, McCartney was given a copy of the Ian Fleming novel to read and he read the book one Saturday, during a break from sessions for Red Rose Speedway before penning the tune on the following day.
The song was one of the band's most successful singles, and the most successful Bond theme to that point.
