Written by four Swedish composers, the song was chosen to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia. Pirates of the Sea is a musical project consisting of members Roberto Meloni, Aleksandra Kurusova & Jānis Vaišļa. They are best known for representing Latvia at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with their song Wolves of the Sea. (Meloni also represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 as a part of Bonaparti.lv) During the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest Final, Pirates of the Sea finished in 12th place with 83 points, receiving the top 12 points from Ireland.
