On “Toxic”, Atlanta native Summer Walker recruits Chicago drill rapper, Lil Durk to mark the duo’s first collaboration together. Both artists came together as they currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia. The word “toxic” is most notably used to refer to an unhealthy relationship, with many of Summer’s lyrics describing a negative problem-causing person. Conversely, Durk does the opposite by mentioning his relationship with his fiancé and baby mama, India Cox. In the song, the duo’s vocals are backed by a warm R&B vibe while simultaneously sharing the same flow over a slow beat with a pacey kick.
