The Lupins formed in 1990 by Stoley (Stoley P.T.), Lance Tawzer (ex-Material Issue), Johnny "Beitr" Furman (The Cells) and Jay Rayjeck (TRS-80) on the campus of Elmhurst College near Chicago, IL and were later joined by guitarist Jaison "Blast" Chasko (Suffrajett). They recorded their first demos with Jeff Murphy (Shoes, Material Issue) at Short Order Recorder in Zion, IL. The Lupins played small clubs and local college gigs until meeting up with The Drovers.
