Mercy Mercy is a song about the Catch-22 of depression recovery. As one begins to pull themself from the foggy, time-warping haze of hurting, everything from their former thoughts to their current freedom starts to feel overwhelming and unexplainable. The track begs some unknown force, perhaps themself, their depression or even time itself, to pull them out of their depression entirely, so they won’t have to have another exhausting “good day” just to find themself back in the throes of another episode.
