He'd been a fisherman and crofter on one of the remotest, windiest, most desert-like regions in the world. Perhaps just an average man by day at his work, at night, when the Shetland sky darkened by early afternoon, he played some heartfelt, picked-perfect country and blues laments with plenty of added yodels.
