The title of the song is a reference to the significant Crip presence in the Ramona Park area of Long Beach, CA. The Crips in that area that Vince was part of, the Naughty Nasty Gangsta Crips (2NGC), wear Yankee hats as an identifier to their allegiance. This interlude has a similar feeling to both “Ramona Park Legend pt. 1” and “Ramona Park Legend pt. 2,” which are both openers on Staples' double album debut, Summertime ‘06. All three focus on noises that might be heard outside, perhaps by Long Beach where Staples is from.
