New partnership between THE PLAYGROUND and NSR @ WHQ is set to break all the clichés with a staggering combination of indie-electronica, electro, house and techno until the late hours of the morning. As the Playground has already made a name for itself offering the best in live music bringing to the U.K. such greats as SebastiAn (Ed Banger) and Kavinsky (Daft Punk’s tour DJ) so has NSR been at the helm of breaking up and coming artists onto the circuit.

CHEW LIPS- The East London-based Dance-Pop trio consist of singer Tigs, and multi-instrumentalists Will Sanderson & James Watkins and together combine their smart-mouthed edgy vocals with elements of Classic Pop and Techno Beats to produce a ‘minimal dance-pop’ sound and already stirred up Rave reviews.

YOU LOVE HER COZ SHE’S DEAD- Since Kitsune snapped up YLHCSD in 2008 they’ve toured Europe, featured on exclusive compilations alongside Little Boots, La Roux, The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip and A-Trak and were also recently picked to appear in E4’s Skins.

PUNX SOUNDCHECK- The partnership of John Taylor and Arif Salih brings together the music that shaped them and the music that’s shaping their future, traversing disco and house, reggae and dubstep, electro and (old) rave, all the while sounding effortlessly and elegantly modern.

KAROSHI- Newcastle-based duo who write exceptionally great electro-pop songs have had the likes of Mr. Fogg, Per QX amongst others remixing their work recently.

“electronic pop that gets our electronic pop knickers well and truly twisted”- THE CRACK

VIVA CITY- Having just finished their second US Tour, here’s a band who is beginning to make waves. Mashing electro beats, gritty guitar riffs, and synthesizer-heavy basslines. They have been compared to the likes of the Faint, Prodigy, LCD Soundsystem and Justice! Nice!

FISH DON’T DANCE DJ’S- DAN MCKIE, LLOYD CHAPMAN and Chris Robson smash up the venue all night with Electro, House and Tech House. If it’s dirty they’ll play it!

WORLD HEAD QUARTERS is the only place to be on Friday 28/01/11 – the event is being filmed so dress for excess.
