Description

In conjunction with Rockfeedback, Oxford’s Blessing Force relocate to the capital for the second in a series of live gigs, art installations and DJ sets brought together under one roof.

BF2: The Equatorial Ultravox takes place at Islington’s Electrowerkz on June 16th and will be headlined by Chad Valley (from whose EP the evening takes its name).

Support comes from Gwilym Gold, Solid Gold Dragons and ODC Drumline. Amy Honour, Charlotte Freeston, Seb Thomas, Tinhead, Valeska Hykel provide the artworks.

The show coincides with the release of Chad Valley’s second release – the highly anticipated seven tracker Equatorial Ultravox – and the follow up to his critically acclaimed eponymous debut. Equatorial Ultravox will be released on Loose Lips on June 20th.

Chad Valley is the alter ego of Hugo Manuel, vocalist of Jonquil and man of many guises. Taking a more electronic approach to sunset vibes, Hugo has, in his short show career, played in Amsterdam, Paris, New York, Budapest, Belgrade, Austin and Istanbul, received considerable support from Radio 1 for debut single Up & Down, been feted by NME Radar and at one point a few weeks back was the fifth most blogged artist on the planet.

Solid Gold Dragons – http://www.myspace.com/solidgolddragons – is the solo project of Sam Scott, formerly of Youthmovies and more recently bass player in Jonquil. Putting together his eccentric tracks with a lean to the left field and an originality that make it hard to compare him to absolutely anyone, this will be his debut performance.

ODC drumline - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgHSkN2_pdc - are a multi drummered ‘supergroup’ featuring Graeme Murray (Youthmovies), Russ Wainwright (Hreda), Chris Collis (This Town Needs Guns), James Currie and more.
