Description
Shameless/Limitless feels a whole thesaurus's worth of synonyms for excellent about presenting BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD (who played a particularly good set at an S/L party last July) and MOLLY NILSSON (the undisputed queen of Berlin DIY pop) for a show at the ever evolving, always excellent Naherholung Sternchen.
//
Blackbird Blackbird is the moniker/musical outlet of San Franciscian Mikey Maramag. His reverb-laden musical output tend to lean towards anthemic, inspirational, and dream-driven themes. Maramag’s influences range far and wide and frequently find him tweaking nature samples and mixing electronic textures with organic instrumentation.
Were one compelled to situate his sound by way of comparison, you could do worse than to say that Blackbird Blackbird fits within the fertile day bright dark night space between Washed Out and Burial.
He is currently in the midst of an extensive European tour and this will mark his second show at Sternchen.

Berlin based Molly Nilsson has been running her own label and producing her own music since 2007. In that time she has released 4 albums, several eps and produced many evocative videos that elaborate on the themes she is obsessed by.
The music released under own moniker is a heartfelt rendering of romanticized pop music, gloriously DIY in method and honest in practice. Clearly influenced by the minimal synthesizer pop of the 80s but also adept
at timeless melancholic song writing, each song presents a compact sound world which twinkles with a sense of loneliness and the warmth of its opposite.
Since her first DIY releases Nilsson’s music has been gathering pace in the underground pop world’s consciousness. In 2011 John Maus acknowledged her songwriting by duetting with her on ‘Hey Moon,’ a Nilsson
original that was included on his third album ‘We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves.’ A full European and North American tour is planned in support of
her 4th full-length ‘History, ’which was released on the 14th of December 2011 through
Dark Skies Association.
