Description

2012 Songs For Children are proud to present San Fran kids Craft Spells !!!!!!!!
oh yes!!!

Fresh from a US tour supporting The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (yes Kip Bergman was wearing a Craft Spells t-shirt for Laneways Festival!) !Seattle’s Craft Spells bring thier 80‘s-tinged perfect jangle-pop to asia for the first time, performing at Hidden Agenda for one night only, before they play Mosaic festival Singapore

One California winter in 2009, Justin Paul Vallesteros holed himself up in his bedroom away from the cold and began working on something that would change his life forever. What started as musical notes played in experimentation transformed into guitar chords laced with pulsating synth melodies and drum rhythms. This was the creation of the dreamy nostalgic pop music (You can hear the influence of Sarah Records and Postcard of Scotland, tinges of Aztec Camera, early New Order and Primal Scream) that is Craft Spells.

Craft Spells released their single Party Talk (also featured on UK cult TV series ‘Skins’ )and their debut album Idle Labor in 2011. Led by Justin’s blissful croon (drawing comparisons from Ian Curtis to Morrisey) and backed by a live band put together by Justin himself, the Craft Spells’ heady pop sounds have toured America and Europe.

We are delighted to be bringing one of the of the coolest young indie acts from the US to Hong Kong for their debut Asian gig at Hidden Agenda’s (HK’s answer to CBGBs!) new location..
