Blackbird Blackbird (San Francisco, USA)
http://www.facebook.com/BlackbirdBlackbirdSF

Blackbird Blackbird is the moniker of San Francisco-based wünderkind Mikey Maramag. His unique style of dreamy folktronica recalls influences from all ends of the musical spectrum; deeply textured, hypnotic songs pay homage to psychedelic pop the likes of Caribou and Washed Out, while the warmth of analogue instrumentation spliced with digital artifacts hints at contemporaries James Blake, Four Tet and Mount Kimbie.

Anthemic, dream-driven themes inspire Blackbird Blackbird’s work, where layers of electronic texture drape over organic sounds and ghostly vocals. Within elongated song structures, Blackbird Blackbird harnesses thematic elements of dynamism and composition to create depth and complexity, while never losing sight of his pop sensibilities.

Plastic Flowers (Thessaloniki, GR)
http://www.facebook.com/PlasticFlowers

Plastic Flowers is a lo-fi pop duo formed in January 2011 by George Samaras. His ever growing love for ambient music led to composing and home-recording, using guitars, synthesizers, drum machines and found objects. So far they have released two EP albums and three singles. After a year of solo recordings a live band has been formed and together they started touring UK, Germany and Greece in March 2012. They are confirmed to play SXSW 2013 in Austin, TX and their first EU-USA tour will start end-February. Some characteristics of their live shows are the heavy use of synthesizers and atmospheric soundscapes along with the projection of dreamy visuals. Their music has been praised by many international media including The Guardian, BBC, FMA, Vogue Mexico and others.
