He is the founder and ringleader of Sonic Youth.The Best Day, Thurston Moore's first solo record since 2010's Demolished Thoughts, radiates with both his signature dynamism of dense thrashing electric guitars as well as blissful 12-string acoustic ballads. Recorded with Thurston's current band line-up of James Sedwards (guitars, UK), Deb Googe (of My Bloody Valentine, bass, UK) and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth, drums, USA), there are also a some tracks that feature all instrumentation by Thurston.

00:00 | Balmorhea (pronounced Bal-more-ay) is a six-piece instrumental group from Austin, TX. Founded by Rob Lowe and Michael Muller in 2006, the band has produced five full-length albums. Slowly adding more members to the band over the years, including a string section and full percussion, Balmorhea's rich and layered music continues to be simultaneously concise and complex, uniting a collection of ideas, textures, and sounds into one genre-defying landscape. Their music has been featured and reviewed by Pitchfork, MOJO, NME, Time Out New York, Drowned in Sound, NPR, and many more. They will be performing as a duo on this tour.

After one EP: 'Adjust We' (2005) and two longplayers: 'A Field Between' (2006), 'D Is Done' (2008) they broke their silence last year with the critically acclaimed 'Stabat Mater' (2013).
'Stabat Mater' grasps the essence of who they are and their unique 2-man sound. Madensuyu lift Stabat Mater from the classical tradition (it has been put to music by Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Pärt and others) and incorporate different elements of classical music into their own musical language. This way, Madensuyu make a bold statement, but at the same time they place 'rock' music (and themselves) in a broader (and humbling) timeframe.
