After sell-out crowds with some of the hottest global stars, BBC 1Xtra's DJ Semtex is back and mixing it up this year with Atlanta hip-hop group Migos.
While their rise to fame was somewhere between fast and meteoric, the Atlanta trio have steeped in the Southern tradition of hip-hop groups, having come together due to their shared love of acts like the Hot Boys and OutKast.
The group steamrolled their way onto the rap scene with their hit song Versace, which brought them to mainstream success. The single went viral and peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100. Taken from their anticipated mixtape YRN, it has been downloaded 1.7 million times and their music has earned 49 million YouTube views as well as 47 million monthly spins on Pandora.
Though the rap group is young, they have collaboration with some of the industry’s biggest stars which includes Trinidad James, ASAP Ferg, Travis Scott, Chief Keef, Juicy J, Twista, B.oB.,Busta Rhymes, Riff Raff, R. Kelly, Gucci Mane, and Drake among others.
