DM273: Poppy Ackroyd’s music is simply staggering and seeing her live is an experience quite unlike any other. An intriguing, always challenging performer, her compositions are towering and glorious and a perfect match with the fabulous acoustics of Union Chapel.

There’s also a chance to see the jazz keyboardist / pianist Charlie Stacey; he’s taking a break from touring with Phresoul and the Yussef Dayes Trio to play Daylight Music. Plus, this week brings Matt Emery to Union Chapel; he’s an artist, composer and producer who’s attracting a lot of attention. His music swings from melancholia to jubilation, through tension, beauty and dark ambience, delivered with sombre grace.
