Biography
Ukrainian alternative pop project Luci came out of nowhere in 2017 with their DOSYT' music video and immediately became recognizable in Ukrainian electronic music scene.
No one knew what's next, though. They never announced the album release date or the upcoming performances. There wasn't one publication within 6 months after the release of DOSYT.
Musican Daniil Senichkin, known as Bejenec, is the sound producer of the project. The music video was recorded on a personal camera. All the above made clear to the public that the project is independent and completely DIY, which made everyone even more excited about it.
In September 2017 Luci finally released the second music video - MARIA MAGDALYNA, which was picked up by the international media straight away.
It’s soaked through in the 90s aesthetic and is putting the audience in the nostalgic mood of the independent music scene of the post-soviet Ukraine of that time. MARIIA MAGDALYNA became a sequel to the previous video and as before Luci put it together herself.
Luci almost never performed live before. As she says, she didn't find the perfect vision of the performance yet. But even in the midst of finding herself she managed to appear on the most popular underground stages of Kyiv - Closer and Mezzanine.
The third music video NOAH became available on the web in June 2018. It was shot while travelling Europe and Asia. All the music videos and lyrics have religious references and Luci calls music her religion.
Luci made two releases in fall 2018. Almost simultaneously they presented “Proshchatys’ nazavzhdy” featuring Electroforez from St.Petersburg and a music video titled “Zabuttia”.
Recently she broke the one-year-long silence with the news of a spring 2020 release - an album ENIGMA featuring 9 tracks.
