I agree with others. This is pretty boring. Glad I only paid two bucks for it.

The only album from APC and even Tool I've gotten into and also pretty much a flawless album.

Have you heard the the live version of the album? Or the versions from Stone & Echo? Takes it to another level for me

...i would agree. but this album opened my mind somehow (because the sound on this record was so irritating) and made me search for the original artists nearly 20 years ago.

+1 and here we have some examples of bad covers :) so i go along with your rating. semioff: renegades is an example of excellent material and did also some influence on my taste.

This has grown on me. So much. Admittedly, many of the songs sound better live.

Don't understand all the hate for it, it's actually one of my favorite records by them besides Thirteenth step

why the hell did they lose time doing this crap instead of doing an album with original songs?

What's with the hate? I didn't know this album was so unpopular among the fanbase. I consider it such a great piece of art.

Counting Bodies is a great song. I think a lot more people would like this album if we had never heard the original versions. I like that they didn't regurgitate the song right back to us, they threw the song into the APC machine. Does it work? Yeah, if you're a huge APC fan. I can't listen to their versions of "When The Levee Breaks" and "People Are People", however. Not bad. Different.

I love the diversity of this album. That's one reason that makes it so unique.

Never understood all the hate for this one. I think this may be my favorite APC album.

I think this is the best album I've ever heard, of any band. Every song is unique, as if they're all from a different album (yes, I know it's a cover album, but these versions of the songs have only the words of the originals and I think nothing more. they're just NEW songs), even Maynard's voice sounds different in each of 'em. A masterpiece.

guess, this one is my favourite. i discovered it back at the times I had no internet, so nothing could influence my choice.... it's unique and beautiful. and, i guess, i've heard it somewhere, but the fact that many don't get this sound, makes it even more beautiful.

people expect too much out of cover albums. cover albums are never brilliant, just interesting.

This album blows. Passive is an amazing song, but it's the only one on the album worth playing. APC needs to stick to doing original work; Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step are brilliant albums.

but I dont think they should cover Imagine, the orginal is way too good to be sung by any other band/singer, nobody can pull this off,not even Maynard

I am not against political messages in music, but the specific messages in this album are terrible. Peace love and understanding? What is this, the 70s? That's not how we're going to fix anything in international affairs. The hippie movement died off for a reason. Besides Passive (which is insanely great), I think the rest of the album is mediocre at best. Nothing as brilliant as the Thirteenth Step.
