Sometimes it's hard to believe that this isn't a Jade album. The distinct sound that AFI would become known for was already here. That Mark fella really was a decent guitarist himself. The guitar tone on this entire record is relentless. Granted, he wasn't the virtuoso composer that his successor is but still, some of my all-time favorite licks are on this record. Davey reaches near Satanic levels in both his lyrics and vocal performances, while Hunter and Adam provide that signature backing track that would be present on every AFI album after. No wonder it's a fan favorite.

I can't decide if I like Black Sails in the Sunset or this album more. They're both so amazing.

start of their more darker side to their punk sound. No shame in saying this is one of their best

This album is sooo fucking classic. I miss them like this, I miss the way Davey used to sound so fucking raw and scream his head off. I am a fan no matter what they do because, I am loyal but I just wish they would goback to the way they used to sound

This was the first AFI album that I purchased. It still remains to this day one of my favorite albums in my collection. An album that (in agreeance [sic] with Dragonaut2112) also knocked me on my ass when I first heard it. I just purchased it on vinyl too! :)
