I only started listening to Al Stewart in 2020. I started at Year Of The Cat (1976), then Modern Times (1975), then Past, Present and Future (1973), and finally Time Passages (1978). All wonderful. I'm wondering whether there are more Al gems to uncover? If you know, then please reply

Indian Summer (live album) is pretty good. Lovely extended 'Year Of The Cat'. Can't really go wrong with any of his stuff. Enjoy!

My dad used to listen to Al Stewart when I was little, and somehow I kind of forgot about him until now. It's bringing back a lot of memories! I remember I really liked his music back then, and I still love it now!

Quickly becoming one of my favorite singer-songwriters. Incredible storyteller! @usuallee is right, he is hardly known at all in the US, and even the old-timers like my Dad only know him from "Year of the Cat" and "Time Passages". Everything he's done is brilliant, and I've been digging deep into his discography, what a joy!

As a fellow American, I wish he was more well known over here. The man is a lyrical genius

Man, it took decades of being obsessed with music before I had even heard of Al Stewart, which kind of boggles the mind. He's apparently not really well known at all in the US, but should really be up there with Van Morrison and Cat Stevens and other contemporaries that are better known. Those three albums from the 70's, Modern Times, Time Passages, and especially Year of the Cat, are up there with any album you can name. He is such a sophisticated and talented, yet unpretentious songwriter and performer, that the warmth in his voice can't help but win you over. And, those three albums are produced by the legendary producer Alan Parsons, and the sound is layered and textured in wonderful multitrack glory. I'm feeling the itch to get a turntable soon, and when I do those albums will be among the first I buy. I bet they sound even more amazing on vinyl.

I remember to got "Time Passages" about 30 years ago as a used LP from a school friend that time. I really love to hear it from time to time since today. "Almost Lucy" is one of my favourites.

I know Year of the Cat and Time Passages before. I never listened to his whole albums before. Regret that now. OMG how could I have missed this SOB?

Smoked a lot of Columbian weed in the mid-'70s listening to Al's music,. I originally heard "Roads to Moscow" on KISW an AOR FM station out of Seattle, WA. while i was living there in 1975-76. I went out and ordered "Past, Present, and Future" about a month before "Year of the Cat" came out. And he's still making great music as "Shards of Ancient Light" shows.

I was in in a playpen discovering the joys of finger-painting with my own excreta but I can still remember listening to Year of the Cat. loved it then and still do now 35 years later.

Cleaned my first bag of pot on this album cover in 1976 - THAT'S THE SPIRIT! (For you youngsters, that is when pot had seeds in it and album covers were bigger than one square foot.)

Love his stuff... but I bet he could pull off a convincing version of West End Girls... It's a joke. Relax. Time Passages is one of my all time favorites. That sax is incredible.

Creo que además del Año del Gato, otras canciones son excelentes. Escuchen WHAT'S GOING ON; ALMOST LUCY. Los riffs de guitarra acústica son originales y muy lindos. La calidad del sonido que tienen sus discos son sobresalientes. Yo toco sus canciones y difícilmente puedo lograr el feeling de Al Stewart.
