Amazing last.fm...I love tracks Year of the cat and Time Passages, but you never play them, just 2 of the 3 other Al Stewart songs in my library. Really???

Definitely one of his best songs ever. I usually go for very strong sonorous voices like John Kay of Steppenwolf or deep sincere voices like Leonard Cohen or Ralph McTell, but for some reason Al Stewart's wispily mellifluous voice has always got me... and of course his lyrics are always incredible. (Momus has the same kind of voice, albeit much, much darker material)

Proof you don't have to "lived" a scenerio to write something truly inspiring about a subject. Just an all around amazing, heart-wrenching song. That ending always leaves me with chills.

Has to be one of my favourites, truly amazing song - incredible guitar and his brilliant, if utterly weird-ass, distinctive voice. Oh and need I mention how awesome the lyrics are?
