One of the best on Facelift for sure! Amazing song from an equally amazing band! [2] That chorus is something special.

Suprised there's so much love for this song, I love AIC and Facelift but to me this is probably the weakest song on it. It can't hold a candle to We Die Young, Man In the Box, It ain't like that etc etc

This song I think is so haunting. I love it but something about it really gets me questioning... The intro is very similar to Black Sabbath's "War Pigs", then it goes into a very Def Leppard-esque "Dun tch, dun-dun tch" stadium rock drum beat and has a riff very similar to Aerosmith's "Draw the Line". The verses have a very 80s stadium rock feel to them - Aero-Leppard-Jovi if you like. The bit about "Dude touching Mother" sounds kinda like Mother Love Train and puts me in mind of Aerosmith's "Dude Looks Like a Lady" witht the use of that word dude. Is this song so intentionally derivative? If so, coupled with readings that can be made about this song being about mother being left to raise her son alone, is AiC making a point about the promiscuity of big rock bands? Thoughts?
