Listen to the Octopus and Mystoria. Next to the debut their best releases in my opinion.

Love the stonerish early stuff on first album (and the proggy Octopus) but not a huge fan of the psychedelic later albums sadly

After a few listens, I must say that new album ranks with best of Amplifier. Terrific.

Did I mention how desperately in love I am with this album? What do I need to do to make you listen to it?

Even more psychedelic than "Mystoria". "Trippin with Dr Faustus" is easily one of the best albums of this year. Masterpiece!

If you're referring to the new track "Kosmos", I kinda like it. At least it sounds more proper Amplifier than anything on "Mystoria".

Criminally underrated band. All their albums specially the Octopus and Echo Street are fantastic!

Listening to The Octopus after about 3-4 years and yeah.. this is still the best. Every single track, such an amazing record. I have the 70 page signed booklet thingy, I didnt realise it was so RARE and that this album was so underrated. Get on it.

I thought "The Octopus" was a let down until I properly listened to "Mystoria". Their latest is very easy to get into and instantly satisfactory, but it wears off disturbingly fast. They're better off sticking to the "slow building up long song" formula than chugging instantaneous short pop rock hits. Dogger_Dog raises some interesting points. I really wish they'd go back to a more traditional prog-rock sound (which is basically what I said in my previous sentence, I think).

"The Octopus" and their debut album are their best albums, as far as I'm concerned." Heh, small world indeed. I feel the exact same way. The Octopus is SO GOOD that I keep coming back to these guys to see if they can top it. They never do. Although I like portions of "Echo Street" as well, it doesn't have that cover-to-cover goodness that the debut and The Octopus have. Also, I think they've "lost it" because they've moved away from traditional progressive rock and into... plain old indie rock. At least that's what it sounds like to me.

Once again popular opinion sucks. Mystoria is excellent. I can't comprehend what listeners expect from Amplifier. Apparently The Octopus sucked until the next album or two. At that schedule, Mystoria will be a classic early 2016.

I've only listened to Residue ("both parts released together" version) and it sounded way better than Mystoria. Will definitely get back to it again soon.

Oddly enough, "Magic Carpet" is the only track I've "loved" here on Last.fm, and the only track I genuinely enjoy out of "Mystoria". Small world, heh? I have yet to listen to Residue (both parts), but your comment has already put me out of the mood to listen to it... I truly hope these guys haven't lost it just yet. "The Octopus" and their debut album are their best albums, as far as I'm concerned. I can't believe I hated "The Octopus" so much for a very long time (even though I bought the special edition of it, which granted my name to appear on "The Octopus 2.0" release). That one sure took ages to finally hit me like it should.

VV Yeah, Mystoria was a flop for me too. I enjoyed the first track, "Magic Carpet," but after that, meh. They still haven't been able to top Echo Street or The Octopus for me. ¶ The new EP, Residue Part 2, also sort of a flop. "Jets to Brazil" was interesting, but that's about the extent of praise I have for it. Decent "background rock music," but nothing that made me say "whoa!" like their earlier releases. Felt sort of rushed or boring. The last song even a bit cacophonic.

I've finally made up my mind regarding Mystoria: it's their worst album to date. And I thought "Echo Street" was lame... That one actually grows up on you, unlike "Mystoria", which just gets rather dull and repetitive the more you listen to it, as it tries nothing more than to shove uninspired riffs and general noise into your head. That being said, "Mystoria" is a nice rock album by any other band besides Amplifier. Now please bring back the long epic "build-uppers" in the next album. Much obliged.

I'm enjoying my first listen of Mystoria. Big guitars, trippy vibe. If you thought "Echo Street" swung too close to CSN (and not even Y) then this is the antidote.

Wow, "Mystoria" is a very "in your face" album, akin to Sucioperro's "Fused"! It's fast, unexpected, it hits you hard and heavy, it's a trip of pure rocking power from 0 to 100% of nearly all songs, there is never a dull moment on this one. I'm definitely impressed with "Mystoria", and I have to say I absolutely love it as a rock album, but I'm still unsure of it as an Amplifier album. It obviously begs for more listening time, something which I will gladly surrender to.

Alright, so, I just got home, and there it was, in my mailbox, the highly anticipated Mystoria, waiting for me! And a signed edition, on top of that! Greatness awaits *_*

If my Mystoria pre-order has been dispatched today, why hasn't a link for a digital download been made available in my e-mail as well? DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE ACTUAL CD TO GET HERE?! D: *googles for leaks*

I actually had to listen to "Echo Park" to realize how utterly awesome "The Octopus" truly is. "Echo Park", on the other hand, not so much. "Named After Rocky" left me with a boner, though, so I quickly pre-ordered Mystoria and I'm currently waiting for its release like some bloke at that precise moment right before shooting heroin up his vein.
