I live in the greater St. Louis area and you can't go to a thrash show without seeing at least a few Anacrusis shirts

can't believe it took me this long to discover "manic impressions" absolute masterpiece

I saw someone compare this to Sentenced's North From Here album claiming there were similarities in the style of guitar playing, so I decided to check out Anacrusis after decades of listening to metal but somehow always ignoring this band. First impression is very good. "Screams and Whispers" was released in the same year as North From Here as well.

I could do without the screechy vocal parts, but everything else about this is top quality technical thrash!

It was generous of the band to offer their albums for free on their site years ago. Are they still there for free now? I still got the albums I downloaded off their site years ago.

Sound the Alarm is the first Anacrusis album I heard, and still really enjoy that for its mainstream alt metal kind of sound mixed with prog and thrash elements. But Suffering Hour is more thrashy, which I'm also a huge fan of. I think I like them equally honestly. As for the other two... I don't think I've listened to them enough, but it's fair to say they haven't left as much of an impression on me ^_^

Very much looking forward to Kenn's double album. It's a shame that it didn't work out as an Anacrusis release, but I've no doubt in my mind that it's going to be amazing.

I loved seeing these guys at Mississippi nights. Always loud and always a great show. They have been one of my faves since I first heard Manic Impressions on Monday night metal. Screams and Whispers also got a lot of play in the car. I'm lucky to have seen them several times in the peak days and again in the last few years.

Pretty cool band, I definitely have to check them out. Hopefully I'm going to find some of their records somewhere.
