It's my favourite album of theirs. That's just how I prefer my Anathema — utterly beautiful yet not descending into simplicity and keeping prog elements and experimenting even more with electronic music.

It's kinda like a less catchy and less creative "Weather Systems" with bad lyrics. But still quite ok, some songs are enjoyable.

I'm officially getting married to this album, its more beautiful, caring, loving, understanding than any woman I have seen in my whole life.

People, stop commenting stupid things here, this album is one of the beautiful things I have ever experienced so just keep your bullshits aside, this album is simply amazing.

I like the electronic elements of the last two songs (Distant Satellites, Take Shelter). I hope this is the direction for the next years. The rest seems to be more of the same (-> Wheater Systems).

Surprisingly I connected with this one quicker than the previous two albums, which grew slowly on me. I can definitely see how it will be divisive but it's a pretty bold step with one foot going forward while keeping the other in the tradition of the last two. I definitely see it as a work of a band that's still growing and maturing.

Thanks much for making this album guys, amazing is the minimum word to describe this. This is gonna be such a special album in my CD shelves.

I have no problem with this sounding similiar to the last two albums, as those were masterpieces. For now, this is AOTY contender.

Trying to persuade people they're plain (you forgot that word) stupid just by saying "you're plain stupid, you know nothing, period", you'll never get anything better than that.

v No more comment needed here, seriously. The superficiality, platitude and stupidity of your comment speaks for itself.

Plain imputation, really? With all that repetitivity, it feels pretty much like Danny saying "I've got a new riff! Poor one to be honest. I'll put this on for 5 minutes using my lovely pedal looper and increase the volume and add some other instruments playing the same riff at the end. Let's hope that Vinnie and Lee will add some nice vocals -the same way- on it." for nearly all the songs. Not necessarily a lazy choice, nor a lack of imagination. Just a new way for him to write -easy- music. If you can't see the critic here and in my previous posts, and if you think that saying "I don't like this album" or "I love this album" is more constructive and more of a critic than what I said, I can't help you. Period.

v Saying the album was an "easy writing" is neither a critic nor is it an opinion. It's just a plain imputation. Saying you don't like the album for what it is - that's a critic and opinion. You just know nothing of the creating process of it. Period.

Sorry if I here the exact same line of music going on from the beginning to the end in each song, which wasn't the case in the albums previous to WHBWH. Sorry if I here the exact same construction in half of the songs. Sorry if I believe that's an easy way to write easy music. Sorry if I always prefered Anathema to techno music because I don't like repetitive music. Sorry if I here the exact same sentence plus music repeated like 23135446 times in Distant Satellites. Sorry if that's all boring me to death, unlike any of the previous albums. Sorry if the single part I really like in the whole album is the second part of 'Anathema'. Sorry if I'm disappointed. Also, sorry if my ability to play or write music while it's not my job actually doesn't change anything to what I have the right to say about that album and sorry if I always thought that being critic when it feels needed is more constructive than being silent or flattering as always.

v Have a hard time with people that have no idea about the process of creating music, most probably don't even know the actual chord progression of the song but still call the album "one new full song (or even 3) or "easy writing". That has nothing to do with liking or not liking the album - it's just plain stupidity, pomposity and arrogance towards the band itself.

@datCometchen, you have a hard time hearing anything that's not fully positive about this album, don't you? ;)

Took me a couple of listens to really appreciate it (as is the case with pretty much every Anathema album for me). But yeah, I like it!

"One new riff --> one new full song (or even 3). Easy writing, easy listening. We're Here was quite good, Weather was half bad, this one follows the trend." - Xbox guitar hero speaking? :D
