Biography

Anna Straker is a producer, vocalist, and songwriter based in London, UK. An exciting mix of electropop and trip hop, her music mixes retro synths with contemporary production. She began her career singing backing vocals on chart topping singles and albums by the likes of Rudimental, John Newman, Years & Years and Fono.

It wasn’t long before she began to fully immerse herself in her own music, leaving school at 17 and moving to London to pursue her solo career. Anna writes and produces all of her own music. She honed her skills and her sonic identity into her successful debut single Late Night Swimming which is taken from Anna's debut EP Serious .

The Serious EP is an introduction into varied and multi layered sound of this London synth princess with tracks like How We Are and title track Serious receiving acclaim on taste maker sites like Pigeons and Planes, Wonderland, Clash and Hunger.

2017 is proving to be a standout year for Anna with debut festival appearances at The Great Escape, Bestival, Glastonbury on the Sonic Stage and her first international tour in Japan. Earlier this year, she went viral with a technical cover version of “Shape of You” on her Pocket Operators which clocked up over 1 million streams on Facebook in under a week. Anna was also chosen to play on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals an achievement indicative of her growing international fan base and status as ‘one to watch’ this year.
