thank u, next is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Ariana Grande. It was released on February 8, 2019 via Republic Records.
The title track of the album, "thank u, next", was released on November 3, 2018 and a few minutes before the episode of Saturday Night Live, which had a promotional clip of Grande's ex-fiancé Pete Davidson making a joke, with Maggie Rogers, about the two's failed engagement. The song debuted at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first song to do so.
The first promotional single, "imagine" was released on December 14, 2018. It will be the first song on the tracklist. Commercially, the song hit 8 on the UK singles chart and 24 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The second single, "7 rings" was released on January 18, 2019, alongside its music video. The song became her second number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and her second number one to debut at the top spot, while the third single from the album, "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored", was announced on the same day of its release on February 8, 2019. It debuted at number 2 on Billboard, blocked by "7 rings".
