"Soft Universe" is a song by AURORA, released for the first chapter of her second studio album, Infections Of A Different Kind – Step 1. It is the seventh track on the album.
This song was written and produced with Couros Sheibani, Fiona Bevan and Jakwob during a 2017 songwriting camp in Bergen, Norway and it was played at the internal listening party there. Of the four songs made at the camp, Soft Universe is the only one that was released. The writers set up 11 more days in May/June to write more songs.
In a response to a Q&A question, AURORA said about the song: "It actually has to do with love… or the fight for love, amongst other things. I was thinking about people fighting for what they believe in, going in protest together to fight for a better world."
