"A Little Piece of Heaven" is a song by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, off their Self-titled album. Though not released as a single, it is a significantly popular piece. The song is a 8-minute long epic that tells the story of a man and his girlfriend, whom he murders in cold blood after she rejects his proposal. He then continues to have sex with her corpse daily. Eventually, she comes back as a zombie and kills him. The two then reconcile, get married, and massacre an entire wedding.
The song was written by drummer The Rev, who stated the song was inspired by Oingo Boingo . The song features brass and string sections, much like an epic. The song is also inspired by Broadway show tunes, in which horns and orchestral strings replaced the band's lead and rhythm guitars.
An animated music video depicting the events was also released in December 2007, being put on YouTube on October 26th, 2009.
